Program Schedule
Our program runs Monday - Thursday each week. Parents can choose either a 3-day or 4-day enrollment.
All students must be registered as homeschoolers with their district.
Although we remain flexible and often adapt our plans to student interest, our typical daily schedule is as follows:
8:30 - 11:30 Morning Work Cycle
During work cycle, students may receive lessons individually or in small groups. Lessons may be in the classroom or outdoors, and include everything from science and geography to math and art. Students are free to choose any material to work on during this time, as long as they have been introduced to its proper use and care. Teachers will meet with children individually throughout the week to ensure that they are finding work that is engaging, meaningful, and appropriately challenging to them.
11:30 - 12:00 Community Meeting
During meetings, students work together, with teacher guidance, to address any concerns or issues that have come up. They also learn to share meaningful appreciations and compliments with each other. Meetings are carefully structured and consistent, and serve as the foundation for building and preserving a peaceful and joyful community.
12:00 - 12:30 Lunch
12:30 - 1:00 Group Reading (alternating silent individual reading and group read aloud)
1:00 - 2:30 Open Cycle
Children may play outside, make art, work in the garden, build a fort, bake cookies, read in the sunshine, or just sit and chat with friends. Unstructured time is essential to children’s healthy development.
2:30 - 3:00 Clean Up & Dismissal
